Nordseewerke Emden Will Produce Wind Turbine Components Instead of Container Ships

The advisory board of the technology group Thyssen-Krupp decided in favour of withdrawing from the container ship market due to lack of demand.  Its subsidiary Nordseewerke Emden will be sold to Siag Schaaf Industrie AG.  Siag intends to use the site for the production of heavy steal components for wind turbines.  It wants to tap the knowledge of the Thyssen-Krupp shipwrights with regard to wielding and turning.
