Nordex Expects Growth on Previous Year’s Level

On Monday, Nordex AG, located in Norderstedt near Hamburg, released final full-year figures for 2009, which confirmed the preliminary figures posted in March.

CEO Thomas Richterich adjusted his guidance for 2010 insofar as he forecasted growth on previous year’s level, i.e. ranging around 4%, instead of predicting low double-digit growth. He explained the adjustment with a disappointing order intake at the beginning of the year. However, Nordex was seeing preliminary positive signals and expected material impetus for new growth to emerge in the second half of 2010 in particular, he said. There would be no change in the implementation of strategic projects, he confirmed.

In April, Nordex unveiled the new “Gamma” generation of its 2.5 MW turbine series. The company managed to secure a major 295 MW contract for this new model on 9 April 2010.
