German Mid-Year Solar Feed-in Tariff Reduction Promulgated

The First Act to Amend the Renewable Energy Sources Act (Erstes Gesetz zur Änderung des Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetzes) of 11 August 2010 has been promulgated in the Federal Law Gazette (Bundesgesetzblatt) today. With this, the mid-year reduction of the German solar feed-in tariffs has become effective retroactively as of 1 July 2010.

The reduction came after a controversial and lengthy political debate and was ultimately decided in early July.

It remains to be seen whether the late promulgation will lead to discussion regarding the retroactive effect of the feed-in tariff reduction.

Details of the reduction can be found in this overview.
