New BMWi Energiewende Newsletter

A newsletter on the German “Energiewende” (energy turnaround) provided by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology will inform about the progress made in restructuring the German energy infrastructure following Germany’s decision after the Fukushima nuclear disaster to pull out of nuclear energy earlier than previous envisaged and reach an 80% renewable energy supply by 2050.

Several times a year the newsletter will present and explain energy policy related matters and decisions and deliver background information as well as data on the future energy supply in Germany.

The first newsletter focuses on grid expansion, which is considered critical for a successful energy turnaround. “Energiewende” explains the need for new grids and how BMWi promotes and monitors the expansion, while involving all stakeholders.
