Alpha Ventus Offshore Wind Farm has Generated More Than 1 TWh Since Start of Operations

Alpha ventus, the first German offshore wind farm comprising 12 turbines, has generated more than 1 TWh of electricity since the start of operations, equivalent to the annual consumption of 285,000 households. The operator consortium consisting of EWE AG, E.ON SE and Vattenfall GmbH said they were looking back on “three positive years of regular operations”.

Alpha Ventus Offshore Wind Farm Exceeds Projected Yield

The offshore wind farm alpha ventus located 45 kilometres north of island of Borkum in the North Sea exceeded the projected wind yield in 2011 by roughly 15%, the alpha ventus consortium DOTI informed.

Commission Approves State Aid for Alpha Ventus Offshore Wind Park

The European Commission has authorised Germany under EU state aid rules to provide EUR 30 million aid for Alpha Ventus, Germany’s first off-shore wind park.

First German Off-shore Wind Farm Commissioned

Alpha Ventus, Germany’s first off-shore wind farm, was officially commissioned today. Participating in the ceremony were Federal Environment Minister Dr. Norbert Röttgen and the CEOs of the construction consortium’s member companies, Dr. Werner Brinker of EWE, Dr. Wulf Bernotat of E.ON and Tuomo Hatakka of Vattenfall Europe. Alpha Ventus: Germany’s First Offshore Wind Park Completed

REpower Installs First Turbine for alpha ventus Offshore Wind Farm

On 30 September 2009, REpower Systems AG has erected the first of a total of six REpower 5M turbines for the alpha ventus offshore test field.
