BNE Paper on Capacity Market Calls for New Flexible Gas-Fired Power Plants

As of 2022, roughly 10 GW of electrical output will be needed, the Federal Association of New Energy Suppliers (bne) said at the presentation of a paper on “Capacity Markets – Framework Conditions, Necessity and Key Point for Implementation (“Kapazitätsmarkt – Rahmenbedingungen, Notwendigkeit und Eckpunkte einer Ausgestaltung”). Bne suggests that new, flexible and adjustable gas-fired power plants fill the gap, but says that they are currently not cost-effective.

New Cooperation Agreement Concerning Gas Grid Access

The Federal Association of the Energy and Water Industry (BDEW), the Association of German Municipal Enterprises (VKU) and GEODE, the association of the independent European private and public gas and electricity distribution companies, have adopted an amendment of the cooperation agreement (KoV IV) concerning grid access.
