BNetzA: 2,540 MW Reserve Capacity Required for Winter 2013/2014

Federal Network Agency: Further Delay in Grid Expansion

The Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has published quarterly figures of the agency’s monitoring of the process of gird expansion projects of the Energy Line Extension Act (EnLAG). These quarterly figures showed that most of the 24 extra-high voltage power line projects which receive priority treatment under the Energy Line Extension Act (EnLAG) are delayed.

Federal Network Agency Presents Annual Report 2011 and Warns of Slow Grid Expansion

Jochen Homann, the new president of the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has presented the agency’s annual report for 2011. In view of the slow electricity grid expansion in Germany, he called on all stakeholders to avoid delays and increase their efforts.

Federal Network Agency Sets New Rules for Tendering Minute Control Reserve

Following the publication of new rules for tendering primary and secondary control reserve in April this year, the German grid regulator, the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has set new rules for tendering minute control reserve. The guideline shall facilitate access to the control reserve market for new and for smaller market entrants, while at the same time creating more flexibility and thus more competition.
