Dena: Promotion of Energy Efficiency of Buildings Urgently Needed

A great number of old buildings in Germany is in need of energy efficient renovations, the German Energy Agency (dena) says. Hence, it was very important that the mediation committee of the Bundestag (Parliament) and the Bundesrat (Federal Council) finds an agreement on the Act on Fiscal Measures Promoting Energy-Efficient Renovations of Residential Buildings so that tax incentives are given for renovations. The bill formed part of the energy package that lead to a change in Germany’s energy policy this summer, but was not adopted by the Bundesrat.

Dena/geea Call for Agreement on Tax Privileges for Energy-Efficient Renovation

The Alliance for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (geea), founded recently at the initiative of the German Energy Agency (dena), called on the government and the Federal Council (Bundestag) to speedily present proposals for tax privileges for energy efficient renovations of buildings.
