NRW Presents New Draft Wind Power Decree

NRW’s minority government is planning to increase wind energy generation from 3% to at least 15% by 2020. To this end, the state Environment Ministry, the Ministry of Economics and Energy and the State Chancellery have recently submitted a new joint draft wind power decree for review by selected associations (Verbändeanhörung).

Wind Energy Did Surprisingly Well in 2009

The expansion of wind energy in Germany picked up speed in 2009, reaching a new record high. According to a study by Deutsches Windenergie Institut (German Wind Energy Institute – DEWI), Germany’s most important form of renewable energy grew faster than expected after two years of stagnation.
