Schleswig-Holstein: 100% Renewable Energy Supply in 2014, Likely to Become Renewable Eletricity Exporter

The Northern German coastal State of Schleswig-Holstein will be able to mathematically meet its electricity demand fully with renewable energy sources this year if wind yields reach at least average levels, Robert Habeck, Minister of Energy said when presenting a new study last week.

State of Schleswig-Holstein Wants to Accelerate Grid Extension at the West Coast

At its latest meeting the government of the State of Schleswig-Holstein in the very North of Germany made grid expansion one of its top priorities. The cabinet approved a proposal by the energy ministry to accelerate the construction of the so-called West Cost power line by an estimated six to nine months.
