Cabinet Approves 2nd Wind System Service Ordinance Amendment

The Federal Government recently approved the Second Ordinance Amending the Ordinance on System Services by Wind Energy Plants (SDLWindV). The amendment remedies problems with the certification of wind parks aimed at showing the necessary compliance with SDLWindV. This has been an issue for further expansion of wind energy in Germany.

Wind System Service Ordinance Amendment

On 16 June 2010, the Federal Government passed an amendment of the Ordinance on System Services by Wind Energy Plants (System Service Ordinance – SDLWindV). The amendment is dated 25 June 2010 and was published on 30 June 2010 in the Federal Law Gazette (Bundesgesetzblatt).

VDMA Calls on Politicians to Overcome Adminstrative Restraints to Raise Wind Power Output

According to a study commissioned by VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau – German Engineering Federation), wind power capacities will triple in Germany and quintuple in Europe by 2030.  Wind power accounts for 23% of energy consumption in Europe and 33% of energy consumption in Germany.
