DEHSt Publishes Verified Emissions Table Report 2011

The Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) has presented its latest Verified Emissions Table Report for 2011 (VET 2011). According to the report, the 1,651  installations that are subject to emission trading in Germany emitted about 450 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) in 2011. This is a decline of 1% compared with 2010.

Federal Government Adopts Ordinance on Allocation of Free Emission Allowances

After the amendment of the Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Act (TEHG) in July, the federal government submitted a draft ordinance on the Allocation of Greenhouse Gas Emission Allowances for the Trading Period 2013 to 2020.

EEG 2009 Amendment and EEG 2012 Published in Federal Law Gazette

The recent amendment of the Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Act (TEHG) and the Act Amending the Legal Framework for the Promotion of the Electricity Generation from Renewable Energy Sources, which both contain amendments of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) have been published in the Federal Law Gazette.

Bundesrat Clears Amendment of Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Act

The Bundesrat cleared a bill containing mainly an amendment of the Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Act (TEHG) transposing two European emission trading related directives. Despite recommendations of two of its experts committees, the Bundesrat decided not the invoke the Mediation Committee procedure.

Government Approves Amendment of German Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Law

The German government yesterday approved an amendment of the Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Act (TEHG) transposing Directive 2009/29/EC on a greenhouse gas emission allowance trading scheme of the European Community into German law.

DIHK Demands to Use Leeway in EU Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading Directive for Exemption of Small Installations

On Friday, the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) called on the government to use the leeway given in Directive 2009/29/EC concerning greenhouse gas emission allowance trading scheme of the Community with respect to the exclusion of small installations.
